Whew, what a busy month it has been! We are back from the Eukanuba and done with the holidays. Janet and I had a great time in Orlando. We shopped, ate at some great restaurants and dropped a bunch of money in the area. :)

Kathy brought these photos to my attention. (Thank you, Kathy!) Olivia of Olivia Frost Photography was sitting ringside on Sunday and took a few photos of Rush. I thought they were cute and wanted to share.

Rush is such a happy-go-lucky dog and enjoys to make me laugh. His timing is impeccable and likes to do it at the exact moment the judge looks at us. LOL

Though we did not win an award, I still thought it was a great time to get a photo of my boy. I had a couple of choices on what I could put on the sign since he qualified a couple of different ways. After a little thought, I thought this one was my favorite achievement.

It has been several months since I have posted. During that time, I have been busy showing my dogs. As a result, I am pleased to announce that Alley (Rush x Minute) picked up her third major today in Priceville and finished her Championship under Stephanie Hedgepath!! Pending AKC approval, she is now CH Bridgelady Regent All That Jazz.

Fingers crossed that her CH photo comes out nice. :)

My dogs have never been the most cooperative when it comes to taking pictures, and my first attempt at getting a photo of the 3 of them together was no different. But I must admit that it is nice to see a little bit of blue amongst all the black again.

Bonnie Money and I went to the Kalamazoo, MI shows this past weekend. It is an outdoor show and it rained on us every day. I think it was the wettest, muddiest show that I have ever done, but it was really good to us!! We took Rush, Minute and 3 of their puppies. Wilson debuted the previous weekend and the girls, Laney and Alley, made their debut this weekend. (no photos yet...but will post when I get them.) I am pleased to say that all 3 kids picked up majors and Alley picked up TWO!

We saved a piece of the boys' old swing set when we tore it down. Not

Have I said lately how fortunate I feel when my puppies find super homes?

Recently my friend, Adair, sent me some photos and updates. She has 2 of my girls, one from Tayler and one from Dixie. I must brag on Adair. First and foremost, her dogs are beloved family members, fur kids and favorite foot warmers. But after that, they are well conditioned and trained performance dogs.

Adair is a great trainer and handler. To date she has put 11 titles on Zoe (Tayler's girl), 5 titles on Lacey (Dixie's girl) and is close to completing several more. I cannot say enough how blessed I am that my pups have found such a great home. Here are a few pictures of Adair's girls in action:

I have been taking Alley to puppy class. I think it is a great socializing experience for the pups. Alley is becoming quite the social butterfly. Here she is making friends with a terrier.

I think my favorite session is when they bring out the pre-agility equipment for the puppies to try.

I was pleased to see that Alley tried all of the pieces and was not scared of any of them.

It is always great getting updates on how my former dogs are doing. I hadn't heard anything about Tayler in a long time, so it was nice to receive this note from Stacy:

"I wanted to drop a quick email and let you know Tayler (we shortened it to Tales) is doing great. I bring her to work with me a couple days a week and she is spoiled unconditionally. Everyone who comes to the office loves her. This is a picture from last summer. She loves riding in the go-cart and still hates fireworks. We usually find her hiding in the bathtub."

Tayler looks very happy and still has her same goofy smile. :)

I found this old video while going through some files in my computer. In 2003, Brent's elementary school teacher asked if I would give an agility demontration to her class. I had put it together as a preview for the kids, in case they had never seen agility before. It shows a few of our early runs while working on our Novice titles. LOL, I was a pretty bad handler back then. In one scene, I almost stepped on poor Dixie. Fortunately, she was smarter than I was and made up for my poor handling skills.

A week later, Jeri and I headed to Brent's school and assembled a small course on the playground. The kids enjoys watching Dixie and Zak take turns running the course. But they had even more fun giving our dogs too many treats and seeing which one knew more tricks. If I remember right, Zak won because he knew one more than Dixie.

I know I am just going through a bit of deja vu today and this will most likely be my last post about my forever favorite blue girl.

Dixie, I hope you are walking on sunshine and having fun running on agility courses again. I miss you my sweet girl.

Here is the information on the recent litter. Someone mentioned I should have posted earlier. Rush was bred to Bonnie Money's Ch Bridgelady's New York Minute, winner of the Best Blue Bitch at the 2009 Megan. After a long night for both Minute and Bonnie, Minute just finished delivering 7 healthy puppies. Hopefully, I will have more pictures to post soon. :)

I put together the pedigree for the litter. Look at all the nice hips.

Magical Windows

I have big windows in my office at work that I like to call my "Magical Windows". They face west and get lots of great sun. ANYTHING that I try to grow in them does really well. I periodically have to either give some away or toss some when it gets to extreme and my co-workers think that I am turning into the Crazy Plant Lady.

This summer, I decided to see if I could grow tomatos in my Magical Windows. I was successful. As of today, I have 12 on the plant. I think next summer I may attempt herbs. Lavendar might be nice.

My son has worked at our local Starbucks for the past several years. They asked him to play Santa this year.

I think he fit the part rather well.

He got to enjoy milk and cookies.....

...and listen to many Christmas wishes.

Santa's Elf passed out sample cups of their specialty coffees. I liked the Caramel Creme Brulee the best.

But I think I know Kenny's favorite part about being Santa.

It had more perks than just free snacks. :)

Sky Watch Friday

For my husband's 50th birthday, I decided to surprise him and the boys with a sky dive. He used to dive in his younger days, but hasn't jumped in years. The boys have never jumped before. It took place at 14,500 feet and included a 60 second free fall.

Kenny was the first out the door. He was the most apprehensive for the 3 guys.

Judging from his face in this picture, I think he had a great time.

Next to jump was Brent. He was very excited about jumping and not at all nervous. He loves an adventure.

Last to arrive safely on the ground is the Birthday Boy! What a way to test a 50 year old heart. :)

Another happy face! My surprise was a success.

Though my family tried real hard, they were unable to get me to jump. I kept my feet on the ground. :)

I found my husband's old dive log. The last jump recorded was in 1983. He can now make a new entry into it. :) I know it won't be that long again before he makes another entry. Both of the boys are now hooked on sky diving too.

AL/LSU CBS Pregame Show

This Fall, Kenny transfered from a community college and started his Junior year at the University of Alabama, majoring in electrical engineering. He and his roommates have been having a great time being chest painters and have been on TV the last 3 home football games. What made it even nicer was that AL won all 3.

Brent is now a sophmore and tonight was the Homecoming dance. Isn't he handsome? He is starting to look so mature.

Putting on the boutineers turned out to be a bit more challenging than putting the wrist corsages on the girls.

I think they are having a great time at the dance. I live less than a mile from the high school and I can hear the band while sitting on my back deck. It is quite festive.

Where Did The Time Go?

May 2, 1989. I still remember bringing Kenny home from the hospital like it was yesterday. I remember putting him in his crib and just watching him for the longest time thinking how amazing he was.

Is it really possible that we can go from this event to moving him to college in just 20 years? It does not seem that long. Where did the time go?

I know that I have been fortunate to have him stay home for his freshman and sophmore years, but I still am not ready to let him go.

Can you tell from the ball cap where he is going too? His empty bedroom has left me with many mixed emotions.

Kenny and Brent share a brotherly hug. They don't look like brothers at all, do they? I promise, they really do have the same father. :o)

A Watermelon Fest

I thought Jinnie at Solitice had a great idea about giving her dogs left over watermelon. I tried it with my crew over the weekend. I'd say it was a great success.

A Birthday Wish

My youngest turned 16 this week. I asked Brent what he wanted for his birthday. He said to get his license. So I said, but what do you want to DO for your birthday. He said get his license.

So guess where we went? To the Dept of Motor Vehicles on his birthday. He passed his driving test. His good friend, Maddie, was there to get her license to. At the time we took the picture, she had not taken her driving test yet. I don't think she would have had such a big smile on her face if she knew that she was about to fail the test. :(

I know that I have been neglecting my blog lately, but this is one event that I cannot miss. I had the great pleasure of helping Jeri with her first litter. Huge congratulations, Jeri! They are so beautiful.

I know that she will be posting tons of pictures of them in the future, but here are a few from the big event. I don't think you can ever see enough pictures of cardigan puppies.

Look Who Is Playing In Agility

Rush and I have been taking agility lessons for several months now. I am hoping to be able to compete with him this summer. Here are a few pictures from last night's class.

I made a run to the store and took the boys with me. When I was done shopping, I went looking for them. I think this just goes to show that boys are never to old to play with toys.

Yay, it is getting close to my favorite time of year again. My garden is beginning to emerge and I will have all kinds of great material to photograph.

My daffodils are starting to bloom, so I thought it was time to dust off my camera.

And of course, no photo session is complete.......

Cardigan Fronts

Jeri has started a thread on Cardigan fronts. She has called me out of blog hibernation to post picture of Rush's front. I have dug through my files and found a couple of his early puppy pictures. It is interesting to see that between weeks 7 and 8, his ears popped up. I remember laughing because I went to get him out of the pen in the morning and they both had sprung up over night. And they stayed up too.

It's not always easy to know what you are looking at when evaluating puppies, but I did see the nice wrap around on Rush at a really young age. BTW, have I said lately how much I love that dog. :o)
