Saturday Photo Hunt

The theme this week was "Blue".
After looking at my recent postings, I realized that lately it has been pretty much dominated by a certain black dog. So this theme is a perfect time to give my pretty blue dog, Dixie, some air time.

Here is a summer photo of Dixie catching some summer rays and lounging by the pool in Ocala, FL.

Crying Out Loud!

When I saw the topic of the week at Saturday Photo Hunters was "Sad", I immediately thought of this photo.

Poor Little Kenny.Circa 1989
Actually, this baby is now a sophmore in college. When Kenny was a senior in high school, all the seniors were asked to provide a baby picture for the year book. I have lots of cute photos of Kenny, but this was the one he chose to use. :o)

Photo Hunters

When I saw the topic of the week at Photo Hunters was "Emotions", I immediately thought of this photo.

It is of my young son, Brent. He was not too happy about getting his picture taken that day. I always thought his little meat lip was cute.

What a Shock!

Here is my entry for Photo Hunters . The theme today was "Bad Hair"

Brent gave Mike a hand working on the A/C. He was standing under the return vent when I snapped this shot.

Saturday Photo Hunt

The theme for this week's Saturday Photo Hunt was "Candy" . . .

There was a time when my boys were really excited to get Snickers and Reese Cups in their easter eggs. I now put money in the eggs too.
Can you tell what type of candy they prefer these days?

Saturday Scavanger Photo Hunt

This week's theme was Twisted. I had the pleasure of watching robins build a nest in a maple tree next to my back deck. I was fascinated at the complexity of the nest and how all the materials were "twisted" together.

Of course, I had a great time being so close. I removed one small tree branch and was easily able to watch them develop. I took lots of pictures every chance I could get.
I was surprised at how short the time period was for the babies to be in the nest. The whole process, from when they hatched to when they flew away, was about 10 days. Both the male and female fed the babies.
I was sad to see them fly away. I had bonded with my baby robins. I tried to care of them and make sure the hawks or cats did not get them. Now my babies never call, they never write . . . .
