I have moved on in my journey into tea and am now trying Rooibos. I think I like it but am finding there to be a great variation in it. Some of them are quite awful. Does any one have a few favorites that they would like to suggest? I would appreciate comments on it.

I agree that some Rooibos teas taste awful and some are quite delicious! I'm still playing this one by trial and error, but next time I have a good cuppa --- I will share the brand with you. In fact, I think I'll go to my stash right now and see if I have some. I'm ready for a tea break!

Oh, I love rooibos teas! I recently tried a new rooibos blend through someone who does the Southern Living magazine home party shows (a peach one), and it was great. But I've also enjoyed caramel rooibos (from Teavana? can't remember) and the yummy Pear Cream green rooibos from Upton Tea. Good luck with your new tea tasting!

I've never been a fan of Rooibos, but as you explore new teas I'd suggest you stop by the Adagio website. They offer most of their teas in little sample size cans for, I believe, $2 per sample. I use a large pot and make multiple pots from the same leaves, so the sample size lasts for two uses for me. For someone making tea by the cup, you can get additional uses.
I also recommend the permanent tea filters sold by Harney Tea. They make brewing loose leaves quite easy in either cup or pot. http://www.harney.com/permanentfilters.html This is one of the very best tea investments you can make.
Rooibos, by the way, is not a part of the tea family, but a shrub that is processed in the same way.
The Tea Republic has a wonderful vanilla rooibos. I also enjoy Celestial Seasonings African Orange or Vanilla rooibos. I can't have caffiene, so these are a treat for me.
