I have been studying some of the neighborhoods around me to see what is blooming right now. Occasionally I have been finding some that still have lots of color. I think that I need to plant some Black-eyed Susans. They seem to be able to take the extreme heat and dryness that we are having and still flourish.
I seem to remember that I had them a one point, but they disappeared.
I think I accidently mistook them for a weed and disposed of them during my spring weeding.

Echinacea and bee balm too... just be prepared to be dive bombed by the hummingbirds with the bee balm...
Yup, I have been stalking. I have been trying to put sime time in my garden every morning before I go to work and want to add some perennials that bloom right now. I had one home owner looked concerned when she saw me taking pictures. :o)
Oh, I've been stalking garden blogs too. I am trying to find a few active ones that are in my growing zone.
Gee I don't understand WHY someone would be concerned about a random person driving by taking pictures...

I've always loved black-eyed susans but I think I have my hands full enough trying to figure out what to do with the SWAMP that apparently exists in my "planting bed".
