Sky Watch Friday

For my husband's 50th birthday, I decided to surprise him and the boys with a sky dive. He used to dive in his younger days, but hasn't jumped in years. The boys have never jumped before. It took place at 14,500 feet and included a 60 second free fall.

Kenny was the first out the door. He was the most apprehensive for the 3 guys.

Judging from his face in this picture, I think he had a great time.

Next to jump was Brent. He was very excited about jumping and not at all nervous. He loves an adventure.

Judging from this picture, I think he had a great time too.

Last to arrive safely on the ground is the Birthday Boy! What a way to test a 50 year old heart. :)

Another happy face! My surprise was a success.

Though my family tried real hard, they were unable to get me to jump. I kept my feet on the ground. :)

I found my husband's old dive log. The last jump recorded was in 1983. He can now make a new entry into it. :) I know it won't be that long again before he makes another entry. Both of the boys are now hooked on sky diving too.

Happy Birthday Mike!

Oh, my, this was a breathtaking adventure and I was just sitting right here by my fire! I wondered if you were up there taking the photos--glad you let us know you were safely on the ground! Thank you for sharing. Wow! What a Skywatch entry!

Wow, what a great birthday gift! It sure makes my 50th back in September seem mighty dull :-) But, I have to admit, you would NEVER get me to jump out of a plane voluntarily, not even for a 50th thrill.

I;m glad they enjoyed the jump...but I would have stayed on the ground too.

Oh man - that brings back memories. I was a jumper back in the 80's and 90's (could that have something to do with my bad knees?). Makes me want to "get me knees in the breeze" again!

What a terrific surprise for them all. I am glad that you did not go!! I would not have been prepared to go either. Who took the photos mid-jump - michael?

This is a most unusual, but very welcome, post for Skywatch Friday. It is good to see something different instead of just sunrises and sunsets.

Good post.

HI! I popped over from Skywatch. That is amazing! How wonderfully thoughtful of you to do that for him. It takes a lot of love to think so far head and plan something like that. Good job! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your totally hunky 50yo! ;o)

Damama's at it Again!
