I have big windows in my office at work that I like to call my "Magical Windows." They face west and get lots of great sun. ANYTHING that I try to grow in them does really well. I periodically have to either give some away or toss some when it gets too crowded. My co-workers think that I am turning into the Crazy Plant Lady.
This summer, I decided to see if I could grow tomatoes in my Magical Windows. I was successful. As of today, I have 12 on the plant. I think next summer I may attempt herbs. Lavender might be nice.
