Have I said lately how fortunate I feel when my puppies find super homes?

Recently my friend, Adair, sent me some photos and updates. She has two of my girls, one from Tayler and one from Dixie. I must brag on Adair. First and foremost, her dogs are beloved family members, fur kids and favorite foot warmers. But after that, they are well conditioned and trained performance dogs.

Adair is a great trainer and handler. To date she has put 11 titles on Zoe (Tayler's girl), 5 titles on Lacey (Dixie's girl) and is close to completing several more. I cannot say enough how blessed I am that my pups have found such a great home. Here are a few pictures of Adair's girls in action:

I Won't Quit My Day Job

I decided that I wanted to take a new picture for the front page of my website. I loaded my camera, my dogs & one willing/unsuspecting son into my truck and headed over to a local park. I thought we could snap a few photos and be back home in a matter of minutes. How difficult could this really be? My dogs are fairly well trained . . . . or so I thought.

Boy, was I wrong. They lay around the house all day long and don't move for hours. I had no idea that when I really wanted them to sit still and not move, they would be unable to do so.
After taking a dozen pictures of Dixie not looking at me (she was sure that she was going to fall into the water) I decided to try a different spot.

This location did not work out much better. They kept trying to leave and check out the fountain.

They actually posed themselves for this picture but I was hoping for something a little better. I thought I would try one more spot.

At this point, I really began to wonder "What was I thinking?"

I decided to quit with this shot and call it a day.

After 90 minutes and approx. 100 photos, this turned out to be my favorite picture of the day.

Show Me The Way

Rush, the inquisitive one, is the first to discover the pool.

Confused at what to do with it, he leans on the edge. Lacey starts to investigate.

She leans in too, still unsure as to what is the purpose of this big, blue wiggly thing.

Enter Jenna the Pro.

She dives right in and lounges like a princess in her private spa.

Rush and Lacey stare at Jenna with admiration. Wisdom does come with age.

Here is the family hanging out at the new, local watering hole. The only one that is missing in the pictuure is Dixie. She hates water and will walk around the whole perimeter of the yard to avoid getting any where near the pool.

Ode To Mother

This is the poem that was on my Mother's Day card today:

My Kindred Spirit

I went to the green house at lunch time with a co-worker to pick up some plants for the pots on my back deck.

Isn't this greenhouse pretty? I could have spent hours there.

I carried a tray of flowers into the backyard and watered them.

Look who could not resist coming over for a sniff.

Rush really does love to smell flowers. I think he enjoys my gardening as much as I do.

He thinks about which containers to use.

Confused by all the choices, he decides to take a nap.

Tuesday Is A Good Day For Flowers

Since today is Tuesday, I thought it was a good day to post a few of my recent spring flower pictures . . .

Rust at 6 months

Rush just turned 6 months old. I love this puppy. I am so pleased that he is holding together and has not seemed to change much since he was a younster. I have him entered in his first show next weekend. I have to remember to stretch his rear out more when I am stacking him to better show his lovely angulation.

Camera Critters

I enjoy this time of year. Irises are one of my favorite flowers to grow. I grow about 15 or 20 different varities because it extends the blooming period. As a result, I always find some to photograph in my garden. I think my little buddy enjoys walking in the garden with me too.

He likes to take the time to stop and smell the flowers.

I took Rush with me to my son's baseball game tonight. I snapped this while we waited for the second game to start. Have I mentioned lately how much I love this puppy? Look at those sweet eyes. :o)

The Graduate

He was a little camera shy, but I am pleased to announce that Rush is now a Puppy School Graduate!

An afternoon stroll in my yard revealed that my Daffodils are starting to come up, which was surprising. It is only February 2nd!
