The Gracious Hospitalitea topic this week was to discuss tea rooms. I have wanted to check out our local tea room, Emma's Tea Room, so I decided this was a good reason too.
I ventured over there, camera in hand, intending to photograph the tea room. I opened the door and was intimiated to find a packed room full of ladies, all staring back at me. It looked quite charming, but I didn't take any pictures. There was a wait to get a table. I decided I needed to return on another day with a friend.
I did go upstairs to explore their store and buy some tea.
I bought a bag of the Raspberry in Paris Rooibos. It was quite good and I will pick up more on my next visit.

I'm glad you were able to click a few photos. I love the name, Emma's! Let us know if you go back and take some pictures of your own experience there...
It looks like a cute place just from what you showed. That's great that you just went on over there to check it out.
It sounds like your 'tea room' experience today was not 'as planned', just as mine wasn't. :( I took my son with me for 'afternoon tea'. We drove 20 miles to get there, only to discover that they aren't open on this day of the week! So, we found a deli instead. So much for good intentions! I enjoyed the pictures of the gift shop. It looks like they have some nice things at Emma's. Let us know when you get a chance to go for tea. It sounds like a lovely place!

Oh good! I'm glad that you're going to return because it sounds as if it will be a wonderful time. Take a friend!
It's always terrifying walking into a room where everyone is staring at you. I would have done the same thing. From the outside pic it looks like it would be a darling tea room. Hope you go back soon.
I feel shy about taking photos in a restaurant or store. It's good that you were able to photograph in the shop.
I loved the pictures of the gift shop. I have to find me a tea room with a gift shop in my area. I hope you will post more pictures if, and when you go back.
The rooibos tea sounds great! Glad you have a place close to home! And I love the poem from the dog! ;-)
I'd have just said a big loud "CHEESE!" and snapped anyway! Then I would have flattered the owner/operator person and said how I was going to feature them on my blog and could I pretty please take some photo of all the wonderfulness they had to offer? Guaranteed permission would have been granted and you would have had a lovely experience. I do hope you go back soon and post on it!

Oh my, you have a wonderful and entertaining story to share! Your pictures are awesome and I bet it was all worth it when you drank the raspberry paris! :)
