Show Me The Way

Rush, the inquisitive one, is the first to discover the pool.

Confused at what to do with it, he leans on the edge. Lacey starts to investigate.

She leans in too, still unsure as to what is the purpose of this big, blue wiggly thing.

Enter Jenna the Pro.

She dives right in and lounges like a princess in her private spa.

Rush and Lacey stare at Jenna with admiration. Wisdom does come with age.

Here is the family hanging out at the new, local watering hole. The only one that is missing in the pictuure is Dixie. She hates water and will walk around the whole perimeter of the yard to avoid getting any where near the pool.

Saturday Photo Hunt

The theme for this week's Saturday Photo Hunt was "Candy" . . .

There was a time when my boys were really excited to get Snickers and Reese Cups in their easter eggs. I now put money in the eggs too.
Can you tell what type of candy they prefer these days?

Gracious Hospitalitea

The Gracious Hospitalitea topic this week was to discuss tea rooms. I have wanted to check out our local tea room, Emma's Tea Room, so I decided this was a good reason too.

I ventured over there, camera in hand, intending to photograph the tea room. I opened the door and was intimiated to find a packed room full of ladies, all staring back at me. It looked quite charming, but I didn't take any pictures. There was a wait to get a table. I decided I needed to return on another day with a friend.

I did go upstairs to explore their store and buy some tea.

I bought a bag of the Raspberry in Paris Rooibos. It was quite good and I will pick up more on my next visit.

Ode To Mother

This is the poem that was on my Mother's Day card today:

"A Mother's Day Poem From the Dog"

You feed me when I'm hungry,
You keep water in my dish,
You let me sleep on anything,
Or in any place I wish.

You sometimes let me lick your hands,
or even lick your face,
Despite that fact I've licked myself,
In every private place.

You taught me how to come when called,
You taught me how to sit,
You always let me go outside,
So I can take a shxx stroll.

You'll always have my loyalty
up to the bitter end,
'cause after all, it's plain to see.......
You are a dog's best friend!

Happy Mother's Day.

Love; Mike, Kenny & Brent

My Kindred Spirit

I went to the green house at lunch time with a co-worker to pick up some plants for the pots on my back deck.
Isn't this greenhouse pretty? I could have spent hours there.

I carried a tray of flowers into the backyard and watered them.

Look who could not resist coming over for a sniff.

Rush really does love to smell flowers. I think he enjoys my gardening as much as I do.

He thinks about which containers to use.

Confused by all the choices, he decides to take a nap.
Sweet dreams little Rush-Aroo.

Photo Hunters

Here is my entry for Photo Hunters. This week's theme was "Time". This collage sure makes me realize how quickly time goes by.

The picture in the 12th grade slot is a self-portrait Kenny drew in 2nd grade. I need to replace it with his senior picture, but I thought the drawing was cute.

Decaf Tea

Here is an interesting post by Gracious Hospitalitea on how to make any tea decaffeinated.
